About //

Joanna Goldsmid – Earthwhisperer Outdoor Learning delivers workshops to help children connect to nature in their primary school grounds and early years settings, and has worked at nature reserves across London, for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), the City of London’s education team at Hampstead Heath, the London Wildlife Trust and The Conservation Volunteers. As a mindfulness practitioner for the last twenty years, she combines working with the mind to bring about a greater sense of wellbeing with her love for the outdoors.

Abigail Hunt‘s artistic practice centres around found objects and images and a procession of tasks: the investigative research of an image, the deconstruction of a line, the disablement of form and finally the reconstruction and reconfiguration of the object. These processes are similar to that of understanding a new language. Through translating one language of images and the later reformation and retelling through made objects, Abigail creates her own structures, tones and descriptions.

Anne Ogazi is a Weaver, Textile Artist and Designer. She has been working as a freelance artist and facilitator in the community as well as in various museums and galleries. Her primary creative practice is arts and crafts. This involves disciplines such as weaving, collage, clay, paper mâché, batik, printing and origami. She also has experience in storytelling. Her main audiences have been early years and primary aged children and their families, as well as SEN families and groups. Anne has a strong theme of shapes within the natural world, texture and colour in the work she produces and is a strong advocate of using recycled as well as natural materials whenever possible.

Green shoots! is made possible thanks to the generous support of NSET – North Southwark Environment Trust.
